As we live in different parts of the country, my daughter and I went back and forth by email for some time considering the options before landing on this property. It was only when I went to book that I realized that the quoted price was only a portion of the cost. Those extra charges (cleaning, "damage waiver", "hotel privilege tax", "service fee" and "tax") added another 67% on top of the quoted price. By now, we had put a lot of time into picking this place and were not prepared to start over, so we just sucked it up and booked.
I soon realized we weren't dealing with a homeowner who was renting out his/her home or investment condo. We were dealing with a corporation operating a commercial venture. That meant a reading and signing a rental agreement, the need to comply with strict check-in/check-out times (unlike most cases, where the owner will work around your flight times), and the need to follow a list of check-out instructions consisting of about a dozen bullet points.
When we arrived, the condo was exactly as we had pictured, maybe even nicer than the photos. While we were almost certainly not the first people to stay there, it looked, felt and smelled so new it seemed like we were the first. I'm almost certain we were the first to use the washer/dryer.
In terms of location, it is a very short drive to downtown. We had a car and it was nice to have a reserved parking spot (the parking lot was large and never more than 20% full).
That said, while I understand that the neighbourhood is "up and coming", it was not particularly nice to look at (is this place really called "The View at Endeavor"?). The views generally consisted of empty lots, construction sites and an electric power substation. You could see downtown Nashvi
