4 Reasons to Visit Skull’s Rainbow Room in Nashville

1. It Has an Interesting History

Founded by David “Skull” Schulman in 1948, Skull’s Rainbow Room was a success on day one. Skull’s Rainbow Room has hosted some incredible performers like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Andy Griffith. After 50 years of hosting top performers and serving fantastic food, tragedy struck. In 1998, Schulman was killed at his own bar during a robbery. The Rainbow Room closed and remained so for 17 years. After a three-year-long restoration project, Skull’s Rainbow Room in Nashville reopened with the goal of paying tribute to Schulman. Now, the famous bar is back and better than ever!

2. It Features the Best Jazz and Burlesque in Nashville

The Rainbow Room has had a wide variety of entertainment come through its doors! Today, you can catch live jazz at Skull’s every night. Between Thursday and Sunday, there’s even a burlesque show. Be sure to stay late, order one of the restaurant’s speciality cocktails, and enjoy the show! It’s what makes it one of the best bars in Downtown Nashville.

3. It Serves Fantastic Food and Drink

Chef Gannon Leary is one of the best in the country. He brings his passion for the culinary arts to Skull’s! With delicious fare from crab cakes to filet mignon and everything in between, the Skull’s Rainbow Room menu is varied and full of flavors. Preparing for a special night out? We recommend the boeuf en croute, a ribeye braised in red wine with shallots and mushrooms, cradled in a puff pastry. Skull’s is one of our top four restaurants in Nashville and we guarantee you’ll love whatever dish you try here.
